Product information "DUROVAL® BP"
The Duroval BP test kit is a portable analysis kit for measuring water hardness in the low range. It utilises a chemical reaction with a powdered indicator.
The Duroval BP test kit is a titration kit for determining water hardness via complexometric titration. The Duroval BP test kit is specifically designed to determine the hardness of water with a very low hardness level.
Each pack contains:
- 1 graduated measuring tube
- 1 stopper for sealing the measuring tube
- 1 tube of indicator powder with a measuring spoon
- 1 bottle of titration solution
- 1 measuring pipette: dosing pipette calibrated 0–2 °dH
Tests: approx. 100 (based on an average hardness of 1 °dH)
Measurement time: approx. 2 minutes
Measurement accuracy: 0.05 °dH
How does Duroval BP measure water hardness?
The test kit provides clear and reliable results even with very soft water, as the powdered indicator makes the endpoint of the measurement clearly visible. The Duroval method allows for quick and easy determination of the total hardness of the water without the need for additional equipment.
The indicator turns bright red in hard water. When the titrant is added, the total hardness is bound, and the colour changes from red to green. The amount of titrant added using the measuring pipette until the colour changes from red to green indicates the hardness of the water sample. The total hardness of the water sample can be read directly from the measuring pipette.
