Is the measurement range 0–10, 0–100 or 0–20 ppm, or is it adjustable? The sensor’s measurement range is 0–100 ppm. The resolution is 0.1 ppm. The smallest measurement range that can be set is 0–10 ppm and the largest is 0–100 ppm. The specification ‘20 ppm standard’ refers to the sensor’s measurement range as supplied (0–20 ppm). This can be adjusted via the operating menu if necessary. The accuracy is specified as sensor-dependent. Does the usual 5% apply to the H₂O₂ sensor? Yes. What gas is used for calibration? Calibration is carried out using H₂O₂ generated on site. However, this requires a generator. Our customers send the sensors to us for recalibration. Another advantage of this procedure is that it allows us to determine at the same time whether the sensor can still be reliably calibrated or whether it will need to be replaced in the future. If calibration is carried out using a substitute gas, does this affect the accuracy? The manufacturer does not provide for calibration with a substitute gas for this device. For the stationary systems from the same manufacturer, a sulphur dioxide gas generator (optional accessory) is connected for H₂O₂. However, this is not available for the Portasens. Can I calibrate the device myself, or does it need to be sent in? The sensor modules are factory-calibrated before dispatch. A zero-point calibration should be carried out every 2–3 months. A full recalibration should be carried out every 6 to 12 months. Use in dirty or dusty locations increases the need for more frequent calibration. You can carry out the calibration yourself or send the sensors in for factory calibration.
