Product information "NeoDeWa water treatment system 230 l/h – 200-litre tank"
The benefits of NeoDeWa
With NeoDeWa, HeylNeomeris offers a modular water treatment system designed to supply deionised water for the reprocessing of sterile medical devices in outpatient facilities.
The key factor is its flexible design: each system is tailored to the on-site conditions. This takes into account the existing water quality, the degree of hardness and the actual water demand.
Treatment steps already carried out by the water supplier are also factored into the planning.
NeoDeWa offers the following benefits:
- Configuration tailored to the existing water quality
- Capacity tailored to actual consumption
- Suitable for different levels of water hardness
- Modular design for a customised configuration
- Compact design even with customised configurations
This provides you with a water treatment system that is precisely tailored to the requirements of your outpatient treatment centre.
Deionised water treatment for outpatient care
Why is deionised water required?Fully deionised water, or deionised water for short, is essential for the reprocessing of instruments and medical devices.
It is used, for example, to supply RDGs and Steris in instrument reprocessing, as well as in laboratory settings.
During the reprocessing process, minerals, salts and other undesirable components are removed from the water. This reduces residues and deposits on instruments and equipment, thereby promoting a process that is gentle on materials and hygienically safe.
Deionised water is typically used in:
- outpatient surgical centres
- dental practices
- dermatology clinics
- endoscopy centres
- other facilities carrying out instrument reprocessing
When treating medical devices, it is essential to maintain a consistently stable water quality. For this reason, the key water parameters can be monitored continuously.
Conductivity and silicate content are particularly important. They indicate the quality of the treated water and help to prevent residues and deposits.
The NeoDeWa ConceptIn the NeoDeWa water treatment system, all the necessary treatment stages are combined into a single modular system.
From pre-filtration through softening and reverse osmosis to further treatment and quality monitoring, all components work together in a coordinated manner.
Depending on the facility’s requirements, the system can be customised and expanded with additional components at any time.
Components of the NeoDeWa water treatment systemDepending on the model, these include:
- System isolator to protect the drinking water network
- Pre-filters and activated carbon filters for pre-treatment
- Water softener to reduce water hardness
- Reverse osmosis system, which retains the vast majority of dissolved substances
- Permeate tank with a capacity of 100, 200 or 300 litres
- Pressure-boosting station to ensure a reliable supply
- Two-stage mixed-bed system for further treatment

The following are also available as options:
- Aqua-Stop and drip tray
- UV system
- Pyrogen filter
- Brine pumping system
- NeoTecMaster
The NeoDeWa reverse osmosis water treatment system provides outpatient facilities not with a loose collection of individual components, but with a fully integrated water treatment system – all from a single source: HeylNeomeris.
Thanks to its modular design, the system adapts to water quality, water demand and the specific requirements of the facility. At the same time, key parameters are monitored, and additional functions can be added as required.
The result is a compact, tailor-made solution for the reliable supply of deionised water in outpatient settings.
NeoDeWa Water Treatment System – Flexible capacity for varying requirements
The NeoDeWa water treatment system is tailored to the deionised water requirements of the respective facility.
Depending on the model, the following capacities are available:
- 90 litres per hour
- 150 litres per hour
- 230 litres per hour
- 300 litres per hour
Similarly, the permeate tank is sized to accommodate the required water volume. Where the flow rate exceeds 150 litres per hour, the permeate tank and pressure-boosting station are usually located outside the cabinet system due to their size. The specific design of the system is determined by the conditions at the installation site.
Compact and space-savingWhen developing the cabinet system, the focus was on minimising the space required. Both cabinets can be installed within an area of 1.60 m × 1.00 m.
Each cabinet is 80 cm wide and 60 cm deep. As the double-leaf doors require very little space when opened, the system can also be accommodated where space is limited.
Robust and designed for daily useThe cabinets are made of sturdy sheet steel and feature a high-quality, durable surface coating.
The NeoDeWa cabinet system thus combines flexible performance, compact dimensions and a robust design to create a solution tailored to the specific application.
Shut-off via system isolatorTreated water must not be allowed to flow back into the drinking water supply, as this would compromise drinking water quality. A system isolator is therefore mandatory. A Type BA system isolator is already integrated into the system. It is positioned directly behind the optionally available Aqua-Stop on the water connection and reliably isolates the system from the drinking water mains.
Testomat® 808 SiO₂ silicate analyserContinuous silicate monitoring is carried out by a Testomat® 808 SiO₂ silicate analyser. The device determines the silicate content of the water and ensures that the SiO₂ limit of 0.4 mg/l recommended by the DGSV and AKI is reliably adhered to.
Conductivity measurement
At the second mixed-bed unit, the integrated conductivity measurement continuously monitors the range from 0–10 µS/cm. For water used in the cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation processes of medical devices, a conductivity of < 1 µS/cm is recommended. The measurement continuously monitors whether the value remains below this threshold.
Filter systemsThe pre-filter section consists of a pre-filter and an activated carbon filter. Its main function is to protect the downstream water softener and reverse osmosis system, which could be damaged by impurities in the water.
Water softenerIn the water softener, the hardness-causing elements calcium and magnesium are removed from the drinking water and replaced with sodium. The underlying ion-exchange process reliably protects the reverse osmosis membranes from blockages.
Reverse osmosisReverse osmosis reverses the natural osmotic process: Softened water is forced under pressure through a membrane that allows only water molecules and very small molecules to pass through. Salts, bacteria, viruses and other larger particles are retained. The built-in reverse osmosis system achieves a retention rate of around 98 per cent for all dissolved substances in the water.
Permeate tankThe built-in cylindrical tank offers outstanding stability, ease of cleaning and a compact footprint. Its uniform shape enables efficient treatment and storage of the water. Furthermore, the optimised tank geometry prevents the growth of microbiological contamination, thereby meeting the high standards for media purity to a particularly high degree.
Pressure-boosting stationThe pressure-boosting station provides the required operating pressure and flow rate for the connected consumers. This enables an optimised and demand-driven supply of media.
Two-stage mixed-bed systemThe two-stage mixed-bed system, connected in series, acts as a polisher. The special composition of the resin in the cartridges ensures that all substances still present in solution are reliably removed from the water. The resin is highly effective against silicates, which have a particularly detrimental effect on the processing of medical devices. If the optionally available buffer tank system is used, the mixed-bed unit also forms the first stage of the recirculation process.
Aqua-Stop (solenoid valve shut-off) – OptionThe Aqua-Stop is a safety mechanism for water supply systems that interrupts or restricts the flow of water in the event of a fault or leak.
It is installed as the first component immediately after the system’s main water connection. The associated solenoid valve is linked to two sensors: one in the base tray of the cabinet, the other outside at the level of the tank and pressure-boosting station.
The integrated drip tray is designed to detect leaks. As a safety feature, it forms part of the cabinet system in conjunction with the Aqua-Stop.
UV system for water disinfection – optionalUV irradiation for water disinfection has made significant progress in recent years, as it is both straightforward and efficient. The UV-C rays generated are significantly more intense than sunlight and are used to disinfect the water in order to prevent bacterial contamination. Legionella, microbes, bacteria, viruses and protozoa are eliminated in an environmentally friendly manner.
Pyrogen filter – OptionThe pyrogen filter is a specialised water treatment filter that removes pyrogens from the water. Pyrogens trigger immunological reactions in the body, primarily an increase in body temperature. These are usually endotoxins released by bacteria such as Escherichia coli (E. coli).
Wastewater discharge via brine lifting system – optionAs an option, the treatment plant can be supplemented with an integrated wastewater lifting system, which pumps the wastewater produced and collected into the sewerage system. The largest wastewater flow rates arise from the regeneration of the water softener and the concentrate from the reverse osmosis system.
NeoTecMaster® 5-inch with housing – OptionData acquisition, visualisation and processing are among the key tasks of modern water treatment. A key aspect of this is networking a wide variety of measurement systems and integrating them into process automation. The NeoTecMaster® – a manufacturer-independent multi-parameter system – was designed precisely for this purpose.
