JUMO meroVIEW 108Q – flexible display and monitoring device with universal input (96 × 48 mm), type: 701553/8-00-00-00-00-00-00-42/000

JUMO meroVIEW 108Q (format 96 x 48 mm)
Article number: 802131

The meroVIEW 108Q combines multiple functions in one device. Thanks to the universal analog input and evaluation capabilities, this device is ideal for integration into existing measurement systems.

JUMO meroVIEW – multifunction digital display with PLC function for temperature measurement

The JUMO meroVIEW 108Q is a compact display and monitoring device in the standard 96 × 48 mm format, characterized by its wide range of applications. Thanks to the universal analog input, the device can be used for a wide variety of signals and can be flexibly integrated into existing applications.

The focus is on the combination of clear measured value display and additional monitoring and control functions. The device allows process values not only to be displayed but also to be specifically evaluated and further processed.

Two integrated relay outputs are available to directly implement defined switching tasks. In addition, the device offers practical supplementary functions that simplify everyday use – for example for analysis, storage or adjustment of measured values.

Equipment of this device variant

  • universal analog input for flexible signal processing
  • 1 digital input
  • 1 combined digital input/output (switchable)
  • 2 relay outputs (normally open contacts)
  • 2 timers for time-dependent processes
  • min/max value display
  • hold function for temporary freezing of measured values
  • tare function for adjusting the measured signal
  • installation format: 96 × 48 mm

Functions and application possibilities

The meroVIEW 108Q is particularly suitable for applications where different measurement signals need to be recorded flexibly and monitored simultaneously.

Thanks to the combination of display, relay outputs and timer functions, simple control tasks can be implemented directly within the device.

Typical areas of application are:

  • monitoring and evaluation of process values
  • flexible integration into existing measurement systems
  • applications with time-controlled processes
  • compact solutions for display and control in a single device

Your advantages with meroVIEW 108Q

  • high flexibility due to universal analog input
  • multiple functions combined in one compact device
  • additional evaluation options via min/max display
  • timer function for time-dependent processes
  • easy integration thanks to standardized installation format

Detailed functionalities of the JUMO meroVIEW 108Q

Additional functions can be implemented via mathematical functions or ST code, such as calculating the total flow rate (volume).

Signal assignment via selectors

The input signals as well as all internal signals are available in so-called selectors (analog selector, digital selector) for further use within the device. The control signals for the outputs are also assigned via selectors, enabling flexible assignment of signals and functions.

USB interfaces

The device features a USB device interface (Micro-B socket on the rear), which is exclusively intended for connection to a PC for use with the setup program. In addition, a USB host interface (Type A socket) is available. On devices in formats 108 and 104, it is located on the rear, while on the smaller 116 format device it is located on the side. This interface is intended for connecting a USB flash drive to perform firmware updates, read out the data logger, and transfer device configurations.

RS485 interface

The RS485 interface is optionally available and supports the Modbus RTU protocol. It can be used in both master and slave operation.

Ethernet interface

The Ethernet interface (Modbus TCP) is optional and enables parallel communication with 2x master or 2x slave. It is used for integration into a company network, transfer of process values and communication with the setup program.

PROFINET interface

Optionally, the device can be equipped with a PROFINET interface to be integrated as an IO device into a PROFINET network. A GSD file (GSDML) is available for the programming system of the IO controller, describing the properties of the device. It should be noted that Ethernet standard services are not supported via the PROFINET interface. If the device is equipped with the PROFINET interface, neither the Ethernet nor the RS485 interface can be used.

Power supply

The device is available in two power supply variants: AC 110 to 240 V or AC/DC 24 V (see technical data).

Electrical connection

Electrical connection is carried out in a time-saving manner using removable spring-loaded terminals (Push-in technology).

Min/max function

When the min/max function is activated, both the minimum and maximum values of the display are stored and continuously updated. These values can be displayed separately or alternately with the current value. During alternating display (scrolling), the min/max symbol is active while either the minimum or maximum value is shown. The stored values can be reset via a binary signal to return to the current value.

Hold function

The hold function freezes the display value, meaning it remains displayed as long as the controlling binary signal is active.

Tare function

The tare function allows the display value to be set to zero, controlled by a binary signal (e.g. in weighing applications). The currently displayed value is added to the tare value each time. Another binary signal can reset the tare value to zero so that the current value is displayed again.

Limit value monitoring

The device is equipped with 8 limit value monitors, each with 8 configurable alarm functions. Any analog signal from a selector can be selected for monitoring, while the limit value can be an absolute value or dependent on another analog signal. Special functions include:

  • switch-on/off delay
  • wiper function
  • alarm suppression during startup or parameter changes
  • latching with acknowledgement

Limit value monitoring enables a wide range of alarm and limit functions.

Digital control signals

This function allows configuration of up to 8 digital control signals. The control signal can be formed by AND/OR/XOR linking of up to three selectable binary signals, or a single binary signal can be used as input and output as a pulse, delayed signal, wiper signal or edge-triggered signal. In the latter case, the rising or falling edge of the binary signal is detected and the output signal is activated for the duration of a sampling interval. The output signal can be inverted in all cases.

Timer

The device is equipped with 2 timers, which can be started via freely selectable digital signals or depending on an integrated tolerance band monitoring. Lead and lag times as well as a latching function with acknowledgement are also available.

This enables a wide range of functions such as time-controlled control processes or setpoint switching.

Service counter

The service counter can either count the number of switching operations of a binary signal or measure its operating time. Once the defined limit value is reached, a binary signal is activated which must be acknowledged. In addition, an operating hours counter records the device runtime.

Mathematics and logic function

The optional mathematics and logic function (type extension) allows analog or binary values to be linked. Up to four freely configurable formulas can be created using the setup program. The results are then available in the analog or digital selector for further use.

Structured text

With the "Structured Text" option (type extension), users can develop individual applications using PLC programming. The application is created using the ST editor within the setup program and is executed continuously on the device. Online debugging functions are available for testing and troubleshooting.

The setup program also allows creation of up to 100 custom texts that can be displayed on the device screen in four languages depending on the selected language.

Data logger

The data logger records 4 analog and 4 binary values. The recording interval can be set between 1 minute and 1 hour. Recording is based on a ring memory principle, overwriting older data when memory is full. At a 10-minute interval, data can be stored for approximately 2 years.

Data is exported via a USB stick in CSV format.

Real-time clock

The real-time clock provides the current date and time (timestamp for data logger and ST code).

Retain memory

The integrated retain memory ensures that specific data remains available even during power failure, including service data, counter and timer data, and ST code data.

Customizable user levels

Users can configure the device menu individually for maximum usability and optimal integration. Four menu levels with submenus are available and can be customized and secured against unauthorized access.

Setup program

The setup program is essential for commissioning and is available free of charge. It enables configuration, data management, and documentation, including wiring diagrams.

Startup: allows recording of process values during commissioning for up to 24 hours.

Online data: current process values are displayed in a separate window.

Firmware update

The device firmware can be updated easily using a USB stick; files are provided by the manufacturer as required.
