Product information "Neomeris water softener 80"

The Neomeris Water Softener 80 is designed for households with up to 8 people and softens up to 8,000 litres per regeneration cycle with an inlet water quality of 10°dH. The Neomeris Water Softener 80 uses the ion exchange process to partially replace the ‘hardness minerals’ calcium (Ca2+) and magnesium (Mg2+) with sodium ions (Na+). This removes the limescale, resulting in soft water.

Product benefits at a glance:

Structure of the Neomeris water softening system 80

The Neomeris water softener 80 comprises a cabinet housing with a removable lid. The cabinet contains a GRP pressure vessel filled with high-quality ion exchange resin. The cabinet housing also serves as a container for regeneration salt for the production of brine (saline solution) and can hold up to 70 kg of salt. The system is completed by a Clack WS 1 CI water-controlled valve mounted on the GRP pressure bottle. The control valve has an easy-to-use microprocessor-controlled system with five buttons. The multifunction display with status indicator supports both metric and imperial units of measurement. CLACK WS 1 CI is made of sturdy, modular material without screws, reinforced with fibreglass. The front can be easily removed thanks to a click system, which makes maintenance simple.

The CLACK WS 1 CI control valve is factory-set to ‘delayed volume-controlled regeneration’ (volume control).

Controlling the quantity with the Clack WS 1 CI valve

With a built-in water meter, the Clack WS 1 CI electronic water-volume-controlled valve determines the consumption of soft water. If the soft water flow reaches the preset volume, the regeneration phase does not begin immediately, but only at night. To ensure that lime-free water continues to be available after the preset water capacity has been reached, a reserve capacity is set in advance as a safety factor.

Ion exchange resin ensures soft water

The central element of every water softening system is the ion exchange resin. This resin contains sodium ions (Na+). When hard water (e.g. tap water) is passed through the resin, the calcium and magnesium ions (Ca2+ / Mg2+) contained in the water are exchanged with the sodium ions (Na+) adhering to the resin. The result is soft water. The resin has a service life of more than 20 years.

Regeneration of the Neomeris water softening system 80

When the exchange resin has exhausted its capacity and is completely saturated with calcium and magnesium ions (Ca2+ / Mg2+), the system regenerates itself using the salt tablets (saline solution) that have been added. This regeneration takes place as follows: The calcium and magnesium ions (Ca2+ / Mg2+) must be completely removed from the ion exchange resin. To achieve this, the water softener automatically feeds a highly concentrated sodium chloride solution through the ion exchange resin.

During this process, the resin is recharged with sodium ions (Na+). The calcium and magnesium ions (Ca2+ / Mg2+) are discharged into the waste water together with the excess salt solution via a separate drain. The resin can now be used again to soften tap water. During regeneration, the Neomeris water softening system provides 80 litres of untreated tap water via an integrated bypass, ensuring a continuous water supply.

Forced regeneration in the absence

The system's forced regeneration starts automatically on the 10th day of inactivity. This prevents germ formation in the resin bed. This forced regeneration is a safety regeneration that only takes place if no regeneration has occurred due to quantity control, such as during holidays.

Reliably measure salt filling

Depending on water hardness and consumption, one salt filling lasts for around 3 to 4 months. After this, new salt must be added. An integrated safety float valve with buoy protects the cabinet housing from overflowing water.

Determine water hardness / Salting

This test kit is already included in the complete set with item no. 400005 Water Hardness DUO Test Kit. Below you will find some sample calculations, for your reference, of the achievable volume of softened water for water hardness levels ranging from 3 °dH to 40 °dH.

Water softeners can be regenerated using either economy salting or full salting. With full salting, approximately 200 grams of salt are used per litre of softening resin for regeneration. With partial brining, however, only 120 grams are used. Regeneration using full brining fully restores the capacity. With partial brining, 80% of the softened water capacity is restored through regeneration, despite the significantly lower salt requirement. Based on your requirements, you can therefore determine the most suitable system for your needs.

Note: To ensure the water softener operates in a hygienically sound manner, the ion-exchange resin must be regenerated regularly – even if little or no water has been used.

In accordance with DIN EN 806-5 and the requirements of DVGW Worksheet W 510:

The water softener must carry out a regeneration cycle at least every 72 hours (3 days), regardless of water consumption.

This so-called forced regeneration serves to prevent microbial contamination of the ion exchange resin and ensures the long-term hygienic safety of the system.

Piston direct current for WS1.00
Article number: 882078

Clack standard control piston (direct current) for WS1.00 and WS1.25 control valve The standard control piston for your Clack WS1.00 and WS1.25 valve The central moving element of the standard Clack WS1 and WS1.25 control valves is the Clack V3011 control piston. This piston, which comes as a complete assembly with all pre-installed seals, is the most important wearing part of the valve. It is designed for the standard regeneration method using the direct current process (downflow) and precisely controls all cycles from salting to rinsing. Position of the piston and its function The piston located in the control box is connected to the gearbox and the main gears, which are turned by the motor. The gears turn, causing the piston to move forward in a horizontal plane and come to a stop at specific points. The flow in the control valve is directed to a specific operation by moving the piston to different positions. The piston for clack control valves is cylindrical and can be operated at ultra-high pressure. The answer to the most common problems with valves The seals on the control piston are subject to natural wear and tear after thousands of regenerations and many years of operation. This is the most common cause of problems such as a continuous flow of water to the sewer, salty soft water after regeneration, or inefficient system performance. To eliminate internal leaks and restore full valve functionality, a professional and sustainable solution is to replace the entire piston assembly. Complete set for an easy overhaul This piston assembly is delivered as a ready-to-install unit with all critical seals and spacers already fitted. This guarantees simple and reliable repair without the tedious work of replacing small individual sealing rings.
