Product information "JUMO data logger with 1 Ethernet port, 2 USB ports (1 host, 1 device), and 1 RS232/485 port, as well as a relay (changeover contact) "

This version is already equipped with a software package. This means that important programs for configuration, communication, and evaluation are directly available.

JUMO LOGOSCREEN 601 – Screen recorder with touchscreen (Type: 706521/18-100-23/000)

The JUMO LOGOSCREEN 601 is a powerful screen recorder for the acquisition, visualization, and secure storage of process data. The device is suitable for industrial applications in which measured values should not only be recorded reliably, but also clearly displayed and conveniently evaluated.

In combination with the integrated interfaces as well as the additional analog and digital inputs and outputs, the screen recorder is especially suitable for applications in which comprehensive process documentation and subsequent data analysis are required.

In addition to the graphical display of plant and process states, the LOGOSCREEN 601 also supports the creation of batch logs, the monitoring of limit values, and the structured archiving of measured data. Thanks to the intuitive touch operation, the device can be operated easily directly on site.

Equipment of this device variant

This device version features:

  • Power supply: AC 110 to 240 V (+10 / -15 %), 48 to 63 Hz
  • 1 Ethernet interface
  • 2 USB interfaces
    • 1 x USB host
    • 1 x USB device
  • 1 RS232/RS485 interface
  • 1 relay output (changeover contact)
  • 3 analog inputs
  • 6 digital inputs
  • 1 analog output
  • touchscreen for convenient operation
  • integrated web server
  • basic type extension: with software package
  • option 2 and 3: not assigned

The included software package contains the following programs:

  • setup program including USB cable
  • PC evaluation software PCA3000
  • PCA communication software PCC

Operation on the device

The LOGOSCREEN 601 is designed for simple and intuitive operation. Navigation takes place via a symbol-supported menu directly on the touchscreen. This allows important functions to be reached quickly and settings to be made conveniently.

The integrated user management protects the device against unauthorized access. In the basic version, multiple users with individual rights can be created. This is especially practical in areas in which different employees with different tasks access the device.

Configuration with software

A key advantage of this variant is the software package already included. As a result, the screen recorder can be set up and evaluated not only on the device itself, but also conveniently on a PC.

Using the setup program, it is possible to:

  • create and edit configuration data
  • assign user rights
  • adjust operating languages
  • design process screens
  • store texts for batch logs and visualizations
  • document wiring diagrams

The transfer of configuration data takes place via USB or Ethernet. In addition, data can be imported or exported via USB storage stick.

Visualization and process screens

The LOGOSCREEN 601 is used not only for data storage, but also for the clear display of process values. Different visualization forms enable a quick overview of plant states and measured value trends.

With the process screen editor, individual displays can be created. This makes it possible to compile plant-specific visualizations with analog channels, digital channels, texts, and graphic elements. These process screens help to present complex plant states in an understandable way.

In addition, the device features an integrated web server. This means that visualizations, process values, histories, as well as alarm and event lists can also be displayed via a web browser.

Interfaces and communication

The screen recorder is already equipped as standard with several interfaces and can therefore be flexibly integrated into existing systems.

Ethernet

The Ethernet interface supports, among other things:

  • communication with the setup program
  • data archiving with PC software
  • web server function
  • email dispatch
  • time synchronization
  • Modbus communication

USB

A USB storage stick can be used via the USB host interface on the front. The USB device interface on the rear is used for connection to a PC, for example for configuration or data readout.

RS232/RS485

This serial interface is switchable and can be used for communication with Modbus master or Modbus slave systems. The connection of a barcode scanner is also possible.

Via Ethernet and RS232/RS485, external analog and digital signals as well as text information for batch logs or events can also be integrated.

Inputs and outputs

Compared to simpler versions, this variant offers extended signal processing. The 3 analog inputs enable the acquisition of various measured variables, while the 6 digital inputs can record additional states and control information.

The integrated analog output allows measured values to be forwarded to other devices or higher-level systems. This means that the LOGOSCREEN 601 can not only record and document data, but can also be actively integrated into an existing control or monitoring concept.

In addition, a relay output with changeover contact is available, which can be used, for example, for alarm or switching functions.

Data recording and storage

Process data is continuously recorded and processed with a short sampling cycle. Depending on the settings, different storage values can be generated, for example:

  • current value
  • average value
  • minimum value
  • maximum value

The data is first collected in the working memory and then transferred to the internal memory. The internal memory operates according to the ring memory principle. This allows data to be stored continuously, with older data being automatically overwritten when the memory is full.

A separate history memory is available for displaying historical data. Data transfer to the PC takes place optionally via USB storage stick, USB device, or Ethernet.

Data security

The LOGOSCREEN 601 is designed for secure data recording. The data is stored in encrypted form in a device-specific format. This increases data security and supports traceable documentation.

Important information remains protected even in the event of a power supply failure. The time and data in the working memory are buffered by a battery. Measured and configuration data in the internal memory are retained.

Functions such as FDA-compliant data recording or tamper detection via digital certificate are generally available, but do not belong to this specific version without the corresponding type additions.

Limit value monitoring, reports, and batch logs

The screen recorder can monitor up to 24 analog values. If defined limit values are exceeded or undershot, an alarm signal is generated. Various settings such as delay, switching differential, or suppression of alarms make the monitoring flexibly adaptable.

In addition, reports can be created for individual groups. For example, minimum, maximum, and average values can be recorded over defined periods.

Another important functional area is the batch log. Here, measured data, the start, end, and duration of a batch, as well as additional texts, can be documented. This is a major advantage, especially in production processes with documentation requirements.

PC programs for evaluation and communication

Since this variant is already supplied with a software package, the direct further processing of the data is especially convenient.

PCC is used for the manual or automatic readout of data from the device.

PCA3000 enables:

  • archiving of measured data
  • visualization and evaluation
  • comparison of various groups
  • export to other programs
  • network-capable access to archive data

This makes this version especially suitable for applications in which data should not only be recorded, but also systematically evaluated later.

Additional functions

The LOGOSCREEN 601 also offers numerous additional possibilities, including:

  • integrated user management
  • web server function
  • creation of individual process screens
  • reports and history function
  • customer-specific linearization
  • integration of external signals via existing interfaces

Optional additional functions such as PROFINET, flow measurement, high-speed counters, mathematics and logic modules, or structured text are generally possible, but are not activated in this version.

Special features of this variant

This version of the JUMO LOGOSCREEN 601 is especially interesting for applications in which a complete package ready for immediate use is required. Thanks to the included software package, configuration, data readout, and evaluation can be implemented directly without additional programs.

The combination of:

  • touchscreen operation
  • integrated web server
  • 3 analog inputs
  • 6 digital inputs
  • 1 analog output
  • extensive interfaces
  • supplied PC software

makes this version a very practical solution for demanding documentation and monitoring tasks.

Application areas

  • graphical acquisition and documentation of process data in industrial systems
  • batch recording in production and process operations
  • monitoring of multiple analog and digital signals in one device
  • visualization of plant states directly on the touchscreen or via web server
  • forwarding of measured values via the integrated analog output
  • evaluation and archiving of measured data on the PC with PCA3000
  • integration into existing communication structures via Ethernet, USB, and RS232/RS485
  • applications with increased need for documentation, analysis, and process traceability
