Sensor Replacement Instructions
Follow these steps to replace the sensor and maintain the longevity and accuracy of your HORIBA LAQUAtwin Pocket Tester:
Removing the Sensor- Turn off the tester.
- Lift the sensor tip slightly and pull the sensor away from the device.
- Completely detach the sensor from the tester.
- Make sure the tester is turned off.
- Ensure the waterproof gasket is intact and clean.
- Attach the sensor to the tester so that hook “A” on the back of the device fits into hole “a” on the sensor tip.
- Make sure the waterproof gasket is not twisted.
Important:
After replacing the sensor, follow the instructions in the user manual of the respective tester to make the device ready for accurate measurements. This typically includes calibration and, if necessary, conditioning.
How can I tell if my sensor is worn out?
Check the sensor condition as follows:
Perform a 2-point calibration. If an error occurs during calibration, this indicates that the sensor has deteriorated. In this case, the sensor should be replaced.
Regular checks and timely replacement of sensors ensure the high quality and reliability of your water quality measurements with HORIBA LAQUAtwin Pocket Testers.
Please note: The salt exchange sensors, both old and new, are not compatible with each other. Similarly, the conditioning solutions for the old and new versions are not compatible with the respective device variants.
How can you tell if you have an older or a new device?
If your Pocket Tester is marked ‘4-cell’, you have the latest version of this device. In this case, you will need the replacement sensors listed in the cross-selling section, as well as the standard and conditioning solutions. These have been specially optimised for the new Pocket Testers and are not suitable for older models.
