Testomat Limit TH

Online analyzer for water hardness

The Testomat Limit TH is your reliable limit-value measuring device for automatic monitoring of residual total hardness (water hardness) in water. It is a compact analyzer for online water hardness measurement based on the principle of “limit monitoring with color change” within a measuring range of 0.05 – 25.0 °dH. Our customers appreciate the easy operation of the new device. With touchscreen and drop-down menus, it is simple to use.

Power Supply Note

The Testomat LIMIT TH 0–3/8 bar is operated with 24 V DC. To connect it to 230 V mains power, a separate plug-in power supply is required (including EU primary adapter). The plug-in power supply is not included in the scope of delivery and can be ordered separately under item number 30996.

Areas of application:

The Testomat Limit TH was designed for use in water treatment (e.g., reverse osmosis systems, electroplating, large boiler systems, laundries, large kitchens and softening plants). The device is a limit-value measuring instrument that automatically monitors residual total hardness (water hardness) in water.

The analysis result is displayed in color in the “Measured Values” menu. Limit value not exceeded = green frame, limit value exceeded = double red frame.

Limit value: You can set the limit value you wish to monitor yourself. The adjustable limit range depends on the indicator type. For use with Testomat Limit TH devices, indicators with different measuring ranges are available to match your operational requirements. Within the indicator’s measuring range, the limit value to be monitored can be freely set. All indicator types are available in two container sizes (100 ml and 500 ml). A detailed list of suitable indicators with the corresponding item numbers can be found below.

Product benefits:

Self-test and continuous self-monitoring: The device status is displayed. Testomat Limit TH performs a self-test when switched on and continuously monitors itself during operation.

72-hour operation without constant supervision: Testomat Limit TH automatically indicates whether sufficient indicator is available for continuous measurement. Taking into account the remaining indicator volume, the set interval pause and the indicator amount consumed per measurement, the device calculates whether the remaining quantity is sufficient for the next 72 operating hours.

Automatic display of the indicator fill level

Logging of limit undercuts and exceedances with date and time.

Logging of alarm or error messages with date.

Flexible configuration of limit values and measuring intervals

Free choice of hardness units in °dH, °f, ppm CaCO3 or mmol/l.

Short analysis time: approx. 2 minutes

Short measuring time: approx. 4 minutes per analysis

Technical highlights:

  • Adjustable limit range: limit values for residual hardness from 0.05 – 25.0 °dH depending on the selected indicator
  • Interval operation: 0 – 60 minutes, plus manual start or external control
  • Long operating times thanks to 500 ml indicator reserve (>1000 measurements)
  • SD card for measurement data logging and firmware updates
  • 4–20 mA interface for transmitting measured values
  • Optional retrofit pump (40692) for automatic cleaning of the measuring chamber

Why original Heyl indicators and spare parts?

For reliable operation and precise measurement results, use only original Heyl indicators and original Heyl spare parts. Third-party indicators and spare parts can lead to measurement errors and damage. If other indicators or spare parts are used, the device warranty becomes void.

The shelf life of an indicator is printed on the product label for each batch. In accordance with our terms and conditions, we deliver with a guaranteed minimum shelf life of 7 months. How much indicator is used per analysis? When it comes to indicator consumption, a distinction must first be made between TH indicators (e.g. TH 2005, 2025, 2050, etc.), which are used for the Testomat ECO, Testomat EVO TH, Testomat 2000 and Testomat Limit LT analysis devices, and the indicators for the Testomat 808 (300 series indicators, e.g. indicators 301, 305, etc.). The indicator consumption per analysis for the TH indicators is directly related to the limit value to be monitored. The higher this is, the higher the indicator consumption. For the Testomat 808 indicators (300 series), consumption is approximately 80 µl per analysis. By entering the operating data (analysis interval, limit value, etc.), the exact consumption or indicator requirement per year can be determined using our indicator consumption calculator: Indicators consumption calculator - Heyl Neomeris What sizes are available for the bottles and is there anything to bear in mind? The indicator is available in both 500 ml and 100 ml bottles. The analyser is delivered with the 500 ml bottle set up and the scope of delivery includes the screw cap with hole and insert for the screw cap of the 500 ml indicator bottle. For operation with 100 ml bottles, the bottle size must be changed to 100 ml in the basic programming and the screw cap with hole and insert for the indicator must also be purchased. For Testomat 808 devices, the conversion kit (item no. 37580) must be purchased for the use of 100 ml indicator bottles, and for Testomat 808 SiO2 devices, the insert with screw cap and suction tube (item no. 37645) and the hose connector ø 3.5 mm (item no. 37643) must be purchased. For all other Heylwelt Testomat devices, please use the conversion kit with item no. 40143. Where can I find the safety data sheet? The safety data sheets can be found in the online shop (www.heylneomeris.shop) under the menu item – Service/Help – Downloads – Safety data sheets. How can the indicator be disposed of? Disposal instructions can be found in section 13 of the safety data sheet. Disposal must be carried out in accordance with official regulations. Can the indicator still be used after the expiry date? The indicator can no longer be used after the expiry date. After the expiry date, accurate measurement results can no longer be guaranteed. What is the optimum storage temperature for the indicator? Section 7 of the safety data sheet contains all relevant information on storing the indicator. The recommended storage temperature should be between 15-25°C. Device warranty / guarantee Measurement errors when using third-party indicators! The use of third-party indicators can lead to large measurement deviations or measurement errors. Damage caused by foreign particles in the area of the dosing pump, measuring chamber or valves is also possible. The use of third-party indicators will void the warranty!
