Product information "JUMO tecLine CL2 sensor for free chlorine"

These amperometric sensors with membrane are used to determine the concentration of free chlorine. They are able to measure various inorganic chlorine compounds, including chlorine gas (Cl₂), electrolytically generated chlorine, sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), calcium hypochlorite (Ca(OCl)₂) and chlorinated lime (Ca(OCl)Cl).

Testing for the complete absence of free chlorine is not possible with these sensors.

Depending on the version, the sensors either supply a temperature-compensated current signal (4-20 mA) in an analogue version or a Modbus RTU signal via a digital interface. Calibration takes place in a downstream device such as an indicator, controller, recorder or programmable logic controller (PLC).

The sensors can be connected directly to various transmitters or controllers. These supply the system with the required voltage and enable uncomplicated calibration.

Areas of application:

The sensors are used to measure free chlorine in drinking water, bathing water, industrial water, process water and cooling water.

Flow monitors for disinfection variables Membrane-covered sensors for water disinfection (e.g. free chlorine or total chlorine, ozone, chlorine dioxide, etc.) must be operated with a minimum flow rate of 15 cm/s. The flow monitor is integrated into the sample water supply line, in series with the disinfection sensor, and monitors the required minimum flow to the sensor. Below the minimum flow velocity, the sensors measure values that are too low. This can cause a connected control system to dangerously overdose or underdose. Above the minimum incident flow velocity, the measuring signal is only slightly influenced by the incident flow velocity. The flow monitor consists of a flow body, a needle valve insert for flow regulation and an inductive proximity switch, which is controlled by a float in the medium flow. When the minimum flow velocity is reached or exceeded, the float rises and the contact of the inductive proximity switch switches. The contact can be used, for example, to control a binary input of the controller for standard signals, JUMO AQUIS 500 AS. If the flow is too low, the controller is set to the ‘HOLD’ state. This prevents incorrect dosing.   Areas of application Flow monitoring when using sensors for free chlorine, chlorine dioxide, ozone, hydrogen peroxide or peracetic acid

This electrode is particularly suitable wherever a cost-efficient, proven, and long-life-oriented electrode is required for general aqueous media. JUMO ecoLine glass shaft pH electrode with salt reservoir, S8 Pg13.5 screw head (type key: 201005/51-18-22-0000-00-120/837, part no.: 00447837) This JUMO ecoLine glass shaft pH electrode is a reliable choice for pH measurements in general aqueous media. It is designed for users who are looking for an economical, practical, and robust electrode suitable for many standard water applications. The version with salt reservoir is particularly advantageous when the electrode is used under conditions where extended service life is beneficial. Technical data Design: glass shaft pH electrode Measuring range: pH 0 to 12, short-term up to pH 14 Temperature sensor: none Active element: JUMO UW glass Diaphragm: ceramic Electrolyte: polymerized KCl solid electrolyte Reference system: JUMO cartridge reference system Electrical connection: S8 Pg13.5 screw head Immersion length: 120 mm (standard) Type extension: salt reservoir Advantages and special features The electrode measures in the pH range from 0 to 12, and for short periods up to pH 14. It is equipped with low-ohmic JUMO UW glass, enabling fast and stable measurement results. The ceramic diaphragm and polymerized KCl solid electrolyte make it suitable for many standard applications in water analysis. The proven JUMO cartridge reference system ensures that the electrolyte remains free of silver ions over its service life and is less susceptible to certain electrode poisons. Why choose this electrode? This version is particularly suitable when a pH electrode for general water applications is required that offers more than a basic standard model. The salt reservoir is especially beneficial in low-ion media or higher flow conditions, as it can extend the electrode’s service life. For this reason, it is ideal for users seeking a more durable solution for regular operation rather than a basic version without additional type extensions. With the S8 Pg13.5 screw head and 120 mm immersion length, the electrode fits many common installation situations. An integrated temperature sensor is not available in this series, keeping the focus entirely on reliable pH measurement. Typical applications drinking water monitoring and water treatment, swimming pools aquarium applications greenhouse and horticulture applications slightly polluted service, process, and wastewater rainwater, pond, and surface water use in portable measuring devices Not recommended for electroplating wastewater treatment industrial process and wastewater ultrapure water therapy pools biotechnology and sterile processes
